Introduction

The
Factories and Industrial Undertaking (Safety management) Regulations is
effective after 1st April 2002. All proprietors and contractors employ more
than 50 workers must implement a safety management system which applicable to
Hong Kong in order to provide a safe and healthy working environment to their
employees. The regulation stated clearly that proprietors have the
responsibility to develop, implement and maintain safety control system,
prepare the security policy instruction booklet, set up a safety committee
related to industrial management, appoint registered safety auditor or safety
officer to proceed auditing and to submit the investigation report, submit
safety control system investigation report, and propose corresponding
improvement plan based on the report.
